View Full Version : Cheapest place for Dog Tag Tinkerbella 21-04-2009, 11:21 Where does everyone think is the cheapest to get these done ( the nice shape and coloured ones) ?? xxxx Lotti 21-04-2009, 11:40 I always use key cutters for engraved tags... you can get some really nice, but expensive ones that aren't supposed to wear away but I figure my dogs are more likely to lose them before they rub away so keep it cheap! biotechpete 21-04-2009, 11:48 How much are the ones you can currently find? I know that the key cutting place in Hillsborough Morrisons does them for £5. I also found this web site (http://www.pettag.co.uk/index.htm) which does them for £5.86. They are £8.50 from the KC. Tinkerbella 21-04-2009, 11:48 Ok thanks lotti :) xxx Bilbo Baggin 21-04-2009, 12:08 I buy mine from here, buy one get one free for £2.50 and free P&P. Lots of designs, colours and the cost includes engraving! Give it a go. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/merchant/ice24769 Lotti 21-04-2009, 12:08 £5 is generally the norm from key cutters I think. Once got a cheaper one from someone at Thoresby market - was just plain silver colour in a dog's head shape but he engraved it with his own handwriting instead of a machine. Lotti 21-04-2009, 12:12 Ooh that's VERY Good... I may have to go for that offer... I need new tags and with two tags on each dog and each dog having two different collars, I need about 8 tags all in all! That said it's still cheaper for me to just get a plastic one that I can write in myself from my own shop... Axl Rose 21-04-2009, 14:15 I have ordered them from here when i got them for my dog, they have all sorts of designs and are reasonalble value and delivered very quickly. http://www.collarsandtags.co.uk/ Lynz&Rox 21-04-2009, 14:20 My mum got thier dogs done at hillsborough and its already worn away. Shes only had it on since around xmas!! We did Rockys on that machine at pets at home when we first got him at 8 weeks old. Hes still got the same one now and hes just over 3!! Although we have changed our number so its got the new number stuck over with cellotape! We need a new 1!!! He doesnt wear it in the house just when hes outside and when we are away but i think 3 years is good!!!! Lotti 21-04-2009, 16:34 I stock these: http://www.comparestoreprices.co.uk/images/unbranded/a/unbranded-ancol-crystal-disk-dog-id.jpg and am going to try them on the dogs as they're only 95p each and the cat's has lasted very well... They're nothing special or pretty but they do the job! And I'm skint! Gemima 22-04-2009, 19:57 I stock these http://www.pettags.co.uk/ They are great quality and very deeply engraved and guaranteed not to wear off. I charge £5.50 for a brass medium size. They come by post first class if you want to order one then give me a ring 01909 564632 during office hours Tues - Sat. Strix 22-04-2009, 23:58 the trophy engravers at crystal peaks market does them for (I think) £3. As if the engraver is in that day though, as they last longer if done by hand than if they put them through the machine to do them please don't get those cheap coloured aluminium things. The number of dogs I've seen where the details have worn off, which means your dog WON'T be coming home quickly if found! willman 02-06-2009, 13:24 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=330334000117 just bought some form this guy. cheap and extremely quick service. As i geta a new tag everytime they have a new collar or harness i do replace them frequently. Vixc 02-06-2009, 13:40 Hi I don't know about the cheapest, but I do know that some realy great ones with deep engraving and engraved collars too if you want them, can be bought online from http://www.bestpetcollars.com You won't find thises in the shops. They do a great variety of shapes and colours with room for all your contact details and more besides, such as I am Chipped or I am spayed. etc. ( to reduce the risk of thieving) or your vets number. medusa 02-06-2009, 13:59 I bought some beautiful ones which are rings of brass engraved around the edge of the ring (with the suspension ring being through the middle of the large brass ring) for Molly a few days ago from Ebay. They were about £6 for two, which means that she has oodles of contact details on them, and if she manages to lose them it will be because she's lost her whole collar! Emma_5207 02-06-2009, 19:00 I always get mine from ebay! Got some cheap ones for the cats and spent about £8 on an enamel filled pink one for the dog (my OH would not let me have a pink collar on her after 4 months!)! SUE89 03-06-2009, 16:48 I always use www.identitag.co.uk They are really clear and don't scratch. My old boy has had the same brass tag for 8 1/2 years and its still as clear as they day I bought it! Sue spottie2101 18-07-2011, 17:42 I know this is an old post however after reading another post it highlighted how important it is for dogs to have a name tag and found these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280693184364&var=580034038959&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_3211wt_1009 They are on buy one get one free with free postage as well so i figure you cannot go wrong. Have ordered all my 4 a new one. joyh 18-07-2011, 20:48 If anyone wants any free tags that say I've been microchipped pm me, you would just need to to engrave dogs details . J |
