hi all ive just bought a replacement lamp(used about 6,000hrs left) for a rear projection tv and ive no idea how to go about reseting the timer without a reset kit can anyone help pls pls pls:thumbsup:

(you can see it when u look inside the socket. its green and about 10mm by 20mm and labeled lamp safety). this circuit board (on the lamp unit) is absent on the one that comes with a new htd501. I believe the replacement lamp housings circuit board is a 500Ma fuse, which momentarily sends a current to reset the timing device then immediately blows, leaving your timing device reset to 0hrs. Simply solder a resistor (value 470 Ohms) across the contacts, then put the bulb and housing back then screw the black front plate on switch on tv as normal wait for light to turn green switch off tv timer is now reset take all the above apart again! remove the resistor put it all back together again your tv is now fixed!!!!
