I'm a bit concerned about the £700+ vet bill which we are still paying for our cat Jeremy who died earlier this year.
The vets have never provided us with a breakdown of what we are paying for and I've requested this three times from them.
Do they have to provide this information? It seems very dodgy that any company can just put a figure together without letting you know what you are paying for.
Our new vet provides this with each consultation ( to Peak Vets at Woodseats!).
I believe they do... I'm not entirely sure but I would definitely seek legal advice about whether you are entitled to a breakdown and therefore entitled to refuse to pay until you receive that breakdown.

I'd have thought they should have to.
Don't worry, we are refusing to pay, but I do have their money sat in my account, so once they provide the information, I'll clear the account with them!
I'm not trying to get out of paying or anything, I just want to know WHAT I'm paying for!

I use the same vets, and when my puppy died i got a full breakdown of costs of things used when they were trying to save him.

Which vets do you mean? I think I only mentioned Peak, who we are now with. I'm totally happy with them in terms of animal care and financial issues :)

Yes, it was the one you mentioned in the PM.
We've only used Peak once so far, but I can't reccomend them highly enough and know several people who feel the same.

I really don't think we are being unreasonable! Wanting to know what you are paying for isn't that an outrageous request, surely?
We've got a reply from thet RCVS this morning though, who've sent us a thick form to complete, and send back to them, so we'll see where that gets us!
I have to say I am with Peak vets to, they always give bill with a breakdown of what is spent .
I do believe they should adear to your request.
