Ive got Jamies Ministry of Food, which is quite good, but theres a lot of starters, soups and deserts in there, Im wanting mainly main meals. Also after a cook book for BBQ's, is Ainsley Harriotts BBQ bible any good?

I'd recommend Hugh Fearnley-Whitingstall's cook books.. I've got a couple of them and everything I've cooked, well, except one thing, was gorgeous..
Alot of people only think of him as cooking road kill and stuff.. :hihi:, but honestly, the recipes are easy to follow and he does alot of different recipes for BBQ's..

ETA, Up until buying his cook book, my Yorkshire puddings were, well lets just say that a Yorkshire lass like myself, was embarrassed by them.. Now, by following Hugh's recipe and his way of doing them, they come out HUGE great big whoppers of puddings..

It depends what you enjoy cooking really...I find a lot of celebrity chefs offer food that's either too simple (and with a bit of imagination you could do without the book) or too comxplex with ingredients you're going to have a hard time finding.

I use the Hamlyn yearly editions and the good housekeeping "2000 recipe" book. Both of them have pretty much everything you need in terms of basic and more complex meals and they never ever go out of date. You can also use a bit of grey matter and experiment with different variations of the original recipes they give.

I've got The River Cottage Meat cook book, and the River Cottage Family cook book.. Both are brilliant..
I'm no chef, far from it, and I find these books really easy to use and the meals taste lovely..
Hey, and get this.. Even my OH has cooked a few meals from these books !! Now if they can get my fella to cook, and the meal taste nice, then they must be bloody good.. :hihi:
