This year the kids have chosen peas to grow. They're growing very nicely in pots at the moment. But does anyone have any tips?
What pests am I to possibly encounter, and will I need to protect them from the squirrel family, if so how?

I grew peas last year, and have just sown some magetout on the allotment this week. My peas last year were OK, except they got powdery mildew - which I think is a common pea prob if you don't keep up with regular watering. I've been warned that pigeons like to destroy pea plants too, so may put netting over the ones on the allotment. They'll also need some sort of support ,unless you're growing a short variety, like pea sticks or canes/ string.

I don't know if squirrels have a particular liking for peas, but it's not a problem I've come across yet.

I've got the canes ready. I'll get some netting then as we have pigeons and collared doves aplenty. Thank you :D
