Hi - Sunday 17th May workshop still has a couple of places left for another one of our workshops. Cost, £40 which includes tuition, equipment (where necessary), evening pub meal, instructional DVD and 12 months' membership to the Salmon and Trout Association. Email Paul on p.gaskell8@googlemail.com to book.

hi!!
hope you can help...
im looking to go trout fishing in the peak district with some friend and also do a bit of camping at the same time, could you suggest somewhere???
thanks, Joseph.
Hi Joseph, the availability of river fishing in the peak district is mostly controlled by clubs. Many of these do not provide day tickets for visiting anglers. One that does is the famous Derbyshire Wye leased by the Peacock Hotel in Rowsley. See link for details: http://www.thepeacockatrowsley.com/fishing.htm
The prices vary depending on whether the date falls within the Mayfly season (I think it is approx £65 per day at that time). Outside of this period, day tickets are around £35 to £40.
Also - contact Stockport Flyfishing shop for details of day tickets on a river local to them in the western peak district: http://www.flyshop-online.co.uk/
Information on camp sites can be found here:

I believe that, because of its national park status, it isn't possible to just set up a tent anywhere that you fancy in the peak district.
For stillwaters, my favourite is Carsington a large reservoir near Matlock:

Best wishes and please do consider our workshop (and pass details on to any of your friends who might be interested, as it is better for us to fill the workshop with an even number of participants where possible)
