Hi I would quite like to give a good home to another small animal but im not sure which. So i need your advise:

I would like it to become tame if not already
I would like to have it sit quietly on my knee so i can stroke it
I would prefer it to live indoors

Obviously i am going to be doing a lot more research but i am just interested to hear your vies n the two different species

thanks

Oh and I dont want to have the worry about it finding a hole to dissapear down. in other words i want it to be able to have the run of a room in my home.

guinea pig everytime! ive got 4, i keep them all indoors and are so tame. Theyre just lovely, they chatter to me when i get home, when i open doors and cupboards esp the fridge as they think they are getting some celery lol. i handle mine often and are very calm. ul find each guinea has its own personality as daft as it sounds, ive got gizmo who loves to be held and sits still while you stroke him, chatters to you and what not, then ive got kel who is tame but doesnt like fussing over and wont sit still, shes very active and want to be exploring.
hope that helps lol good luck x

Would guinea pigs be able to be left on the floor of the living room to roam around then?
I have gerbils and one of them come out every night on the settee. he roams around for about 30-45 mins

I know many people who let their pigs roam, you just need to make sure the area is secure and they can't chew any wires etc

I've had pigs for years and I'd never be without

Oh guinea pigs, definately! My four boys live in the living room in two cages, and I can't imagine being without their wheeking!

It's dangerous game though-one minutes you've got two, the next you've got two hundred!

I have my eyes on a skinny one day :D
