I've now had an email confirming that i,m on the list.
i know I'm being fussy but I'd like to get one at Cat Lane (because it's our nearest). Whenever I check the council web site it's always full but I throw them an email asking to be put onto a waiting list.
Is this the right way to go about it or should I be doing something different?
(I did look at previous threads but didn't think they helped or they were very old)
Yes, this is how you do it. I presume you used the email address on this page http://www.sheffield.gov.uk/out--about/parks-woodlands--countryside/allotments. It may take a couple of weeks but you should get an email back confirming you are now on the list. Or try giving them a ring to confirm. Hope you get one.
We got ours through here, its in Darnell and a priveatley owned allotment site, the council sites just seem too dis-organised.
Its a great secure site (210 Plots) when we got ours there were a couple free but i'm not sure if its full now.
Here is some more info www.infieldlane.co.uk.

We're not full, but we're down to about a dozen overgrown plots.
By all means come down and have a look at us.The office is open every Saturday and Sunday 11am-12 noon, and we have an open day for Sheffield Environment Weeks on Saturday May 9th 1.30-3.30pm.
Directions on the website.

I'll try an pop in tomorrow but I really wanted something at Cat Lane...it's nearer and I think that's important when it comes to popping in after tea and before dusk
do you mean Heeley & district allotments at Meersbrook ? I know there is a cat lane close by. I'm pretty certain the current waiting list is up to around 160 people ...
