I've only heard good things about Prague. It's a place I've always wanted to visit and from what I've heard it's a great experience. Have a great time!

I went on a really good walking tour - the area around the presidential palace was very beautiful, and the Charles bridge is really central to the city and is stunning. I also went on a river boat cruise at night which was a wonderful way of seeing the city. It really is a beautiful city, with lots to see. I was only there for a couple of days, so didn't get around everything I wanted to see. Apparently the Jewish quarter is well worth a look. You may hear people recommending the astronomical clock - someone recommended it to me, but what an anti-climax!

Plus there are lots of little shops that you can spend hours looking around.

I used to live there in 1992. Not been back since.

Do not miss the walk from the Old Town Square (stare mesto) to Charles Bridge and then up to the castle. Charles bridge has got to be the most romantic bridge in the whole wide world. Climb one of the towers at one end to get a photo. There will be all sorts of musicians and people selling trinkets and jewellery on the bridge. Fascinating. Russian dolls too.

Do not miss the Jewish quarter, accessible from the other end of the old town square. It's moving and semi upsetting to see the gravestones so close together (and also makes for good photos).

I'll leave it there as it will have become more commercialised since I visited, but it's a beautiful city. You'll fall in love with it. I did.
