Jackie Longley, Cat Abuse Treatment Soc, Firth Park needs her neighbour's privet edge shredding.
Her neighbour is 71, disabled and had his privet cut down last summer. There is now a very large pile of wood and dead leaves which he has started to burn. As this is very close to Jackie's cat chalets - a matter of a foot - she is very worried that it will set fire to her sanctuary, not to mention all the smoke that fills the sanctuary and affects the poorly and pregnant cats. This pile is just too much for the man himself to deal with, but I thought it someone could offer to provide a shredder, and possibly volunteer a bit of help, then myself and others could bag it up in Veolia's green bags for free collection.
The threat of fire is worrying Jackie so much - can anyone help please?
I have asked Age Concern, Council etc but no real offer of help.
Thanks so much.

Fabbie. The idea is that Mick who helps out Jackie Longley at Cat Abuse Treatment Soc is starting tomorrow with the shredding. It will be a big help to Jackie as she is terrified that the man next door will start to burn it again and put her sanctuary in danger.
Her no. is 2457181 and she's available to take calls after 1030 am. Be prepared for a hyper Jackie - she's got loads of mums in and 22 kittens. On verge of breakdown I would imagine. Thanks for your offer of help Pink Fairy. x

Hi love, the shredding didn't take place on Tuesday cos of the weather, but Mick helps out at Jackie's on Tuesdays and Thursdays and if you can help, am sure they would fit in with you. Perhaps you can't do daytime but any offer of help would be great. Best wishes, Magsie x

CAN ANYONE VOLUNTEER THIS WEEKEND PLEASE?
Neighbour is in hospital and would be a good time to sort it otherwise it could be burned causing havoc to new kits and cats not to mention the wooden chalets!
Jackie Longley needs all the help she can get. Snowed under with unwanted cats and kittens.

Magsie, please stop highlighting this fire threat... I burned some stuff for 3 hours 4 weeks ago, the other side of a greenhouse, its not under threat and never has been. The wood does need shifting and help would be great but its not a major threat to the sanctuary.
