Following on from my previous thread here is another parenting issue that I feel I have helped with........ Please feel free to tell me if I am any good:hihi:

Dear WYorksDeano
I am having terrible troubles with my youngest son. He is five years old, and is still wetting the bed every night. Also, he constantly plays with his genitals. He does this regardless of where we are, or who we are with. He once did it in the middle of the checkout in Tesco. I’ve tried to talk to him about it, and I never punish him for wetting the bed. I reassure him that it’s OK and no-one will blame him for it. I’ve also tried to explain that although it’s perfectly natural to be inquisitive about his body, that he should do this maybe in his bedroom or when he is having a bath. None of that seems to have had any effect and I’m at my wits end.

WYorksDeano replies with the following advice............

First of all, let’s deal with the bed wetting. You say he is five years old, so there is absolutely no good reason why he should be doing this. I suspect that because he doesn’t get punished or told off for this, he is doing it because he can’t be bothered to get out of bed in the night to go to the toilet. Aversion therapy in cases like this can be very effective. Taunt your son, chant ‘bed wetter, bed wetter’ at him at every available opportunity. Tell his friends about it, and they too will taunt him. I think you’ll find that he stops doing it pretty quickly. As to the public exhibition of his masturbation, tell him that continuing to do so will result in the monster that lives in his wardrobe and only comes out at night, biting his willy off. If that doesn’t work, batter him every time he does it.
