i am due to be moving soon but my moving date is on a sunday, id rather hire a van for just the day rather than have to do it over a weekend, i also will be needing 7.5 tonne so does anyone know any that are open sundays and if not wheres the cheapest place to go?

Forgive me if they no longer offer this service but Arnold Clarks on Burngreave Road used to hire out large vans on Sundays ideal for removals. You could also hire for 4 hours and the cost was calculated on the mileage you did. It may be worth a quick phone call to ask if they still do it. Good luck!
