This is more of a question for the people with pedigrees who chose that specific breed. Im just curious.
Ive got a cavalier king charles called Pippa. I wanted a dog forever and spent years researching all breed types. We eventually decided on a cavie when i went part time. Our reasons are: excellent with kids and cats, dont need several hours of exercise a day and are small, but not too small, not overly yappy and dont have a bad bone in their body. Had i been able to find a finnish spitz, we would have got one of these.
Had i been going purely on looks, id have gone for a husky, or a long haired gsd, but knew they would not fit in with my family life. The only thing i miss in a cavie is personal protection.
We all know breed of choice is staffys at the moment for the wrong reasons, which has now given them a bad name. Ive met some lovely ones with older people who obviously researched the breed and got them for the right reasons. I just wish more people got a dog to fit there needs, not just because it looks good.
