Hi there,
Just had a message pop up on laptop saying my files are infected by 'trogans' trying to get personal info. Clicked on the link, and it looked like a normal vista screen but had a web address in the address bar. It asked me to download an exe file. Is it a con?

DON'T do it!
Download Adaware SE free or Spybot or both and run them, also run your virus checker and do a fullscan
Another good program for trojans is A2 which used to be asquared. Install and run that.

Great advice - Most of these types of warnings are malicious themselves trying to scare you into downloading something even nastier.
May even be able to uninstall this from add/remove programs, but heed neeeeeeeeeeks words for they are wise :P
