No they dont. In fact, I think they only deliver during office hours Mon-Fri which is ok if you dont work during those hours. I had a parcel delivered while I was at work, but as I wasn't in they took it back to their depot and the hastle of getting it redelivered for a time that suited me was a nightmare.

UPS - we deliver. I've hear it all now lol.

If memory serves, it depends on the consignment type the sender uses and service differ between couriers.

If the package was sent on a Friday on a Saturday consignment then it'd be delivered on the Saturday. However, if it was sent on Friday on an overnight then it'd be delivered on the NWD ie Monday.

My advice is to look at their website and also find out what consignment type the goods are being dispatched on (you'll end up paying much more for a Saturday delivery).

My grateful thanks to everyone who replied to my question. I received my parcel on Monday 4 July 2005. It was sent on Fri 1 July.

It seems that UPS Standard Delivery office hours are MON-SAT 9am-5pm

No problem for me as I knew the tracking number and was on holiday and able to accept the delivery.

My conclusion: an efficient service providing you can track the delivery online and are in when they deliver. Of course, that's the case with RM as well.

I wouldnt deal with UPS at all and found them to be totally useless when IBM used them to deliver stuff some years ago. They lost the software, ran one of their forklift trucks over a replacement. IN all it took over 3 weeks for them to finally deliver a viable CD Rom which could have been sent by post wihtout all of that hassle.

Not much thought went into the naming of a carrier company when they came up with 'oops'!
