All you eggheads out there, can you help me ? Im confused about the user password.Do you only put your password in when there are no dots in the box ? If the dots are already in the box do you leave the box alone.

Yeh, the dots mean your password has been automatically filled in for you.

Also I confused about signing in and out.I always sign in but nearly always forget to sign out of my account. does this make any difference? Please I badly need advice.

Patricia, if you're using the same computer, your password may be saved on it. So you won't need to type it in again if the dots are already there. But if it won't let you come onto the site for any reason, then it may be the wrong password, so take it out and type it again.

However, is there other people using your computer? If not, you COULD just stay logged in, then you won't have to put in a password everytime you come to the Forum. If other people are using it then it's not a good idea, as they could then read your messages, or post as you (not that I'm saying any family that you DO have are dishonest, you understand!).

Stick with it, it'll start getting easier. We were all new to computers once. And if you need any more advice (albeit nothing to technical - I'm only a user not a computer buff!) then PM (message) me.

:D :D :D

You are certainly not thick. And you are doing great if you can post on a forum like this. And even start a new thread! My parents are younger than you and think that computers are for spacemen. I get email for my dad which I print out and he thinks it has come out of a fax machine. Mention the word Internet and he gets a confusion of white mist and needs to sit down.

Then i'm thick too! I spend the majority of my spare time solving people's computer problems, in fact i have my own computer help website, yet i've just had to ask for help with a rather simple computer problem of my own
