How come all my digital TV channels suffer intermittent problems or I can't get them at all but the shopping channels always appear with crystal clarity?

What are these channels doing that everyone else can't be bothered to?

More details please. Are you freeview, sky, cable etc and possibly a postal area.

I also encounter problems with reception with free view digital channels where i live. I think this is mainly down to us being in a weak signal area, the reception is also made worse by heavy rain or high wind conditions.

Its freeview. I am absolutely sick of paying the licence fee for a service that is just not that reliable.

I also have the same problem with Freeview - generally struggle to get more than 2 channels at any one time despite a new ariel and booster box!

Who fitted the new aerial and can you elaborate on the 'booster box' (what/where is it)?

Basically, poor signal manifests itself differently on a digital broadcast to an analogue one

A digital picture (whether satellite, cable or terrestrial) has two discrete states. It works or it doesn't (or you may get the 'pixellating' effect). Analogue signals get progressively worse as the signal degrades and you get 'snow'

So you may have rubbish signal stregnth, but just enough to sustain a picture in good conditions and it will look perfect

Ignore me - just passing through. . . .

How do you delete your posts if you suddenly realise they're absolute rubbish?
