I like a nice soft spoken Jordie accent like Nell Macandrew or Jane Middlemiss. I used to have a regular 3 times a year visit to do a job in Newcastle University, and the female North east accent is so inviting.

I've voted Scottish, but not all Scottish accents. Glaswegian really doesn't do it for me - but give me a man from Aberdeen or Dundee any day!!

That's so very true.

There is a world of difference between a harsh, broad Glaswegian accent and a soft, lilting, almost musical, accent from the Western Isles. The latter accent is almost closer to a soft Irish accent than those of Central Scotland.

I think if I wasn't from Edinburgh, I'd really like an educated Edinburgh accent - but as it is, I can't really hear it as an accent as such - it just sounds like the natural way to talk!

I don't know about sexy as such, but the Isle of Skye accent is a joy to listen to. Whereas Glasgow :gag: - sorry but there's no such thing as 'posh' Glaswegian! :o :)

If I'm really honest though I'd have to say I find most accents sexy especially if they're laughing at my humour and definitely not swearing with every fourth word when they do speak.

I voted the American accent (let's face it, it's beautiful - though I refer only to the West Coast version), however, there was no Spanish accent and that one is yummy :)

my mate kiain grew up in Maryhill, studied for his first degree in Glasgow and did his PhD in Sheffield, I never had a problem understanding his accent and actually found him quite well spoken.

the dublin accent is fantastic. I have a friend in dublin and I've just fallen in love with his accent. The rest of him can stay in Dublin ;)

I find women with either Eastern European or Caribean accents, to be the sexiest. I particularly find the Carribean accent to be the most sexiest and hypnotic of accents though.

Geordie - but then my father's side of the family are all Geordies, so I'm biased to begin with.

Geordie for me too,that only because my other half from there.It did use to be irish but think that with liveing with irish people in my family.But now being with him and meeting his family i got to like it a lot.

Speaking American, there are several different accents, some like NYC or Chicago or Boston aren't particularly attractive, way too nasal. Among my favorites are South Carolina and Hawaiian women's voices. American Indian men have good voices

I hate strong Irish accents.. Cos I can't understand them, hence part of the reason I hated my time on AOhell back in 1998.. I like most British accents, but Scottish is probably my favorite. Iain Glen and Gerard Butler are sexy. Robert Carlysle is good, too, except when he's doing an English accent. (I had to use the subtitles for "Once Upon a Time in the Midlands.")

It depends a lot on who you know who has that accent.

I never thought anything of a Glasgow accent until I got to know someone who works in our Glasgow office. I'm sure it must be her I like and not the accent cos its never done anything for me before.

Bizarrely enough I actually find a Birmingham accent quite sexy. Remember Birmingham accent is different to black country, which is actually quite a comic accent to my ears.

I personally think what the person says and how they say it has more impact on whether the accent comes across as sexy. Any accent can sound cheap and nasty in the wrong hands.
