Has anyone else managed to have a good experience of graphistudio.
I have had nothing but problems with them (all their fault, often hitting a language barrier) and their customer service in england is awful due to the attitude they have when dealing with requests or problems/ complaints that dont need to be aimed at the technical department.
I am sending a lot of business their way this year (they dont see it as a lot as if 700 books at once isnt alot ) no discount at this level either!
Could anyone else let me know what their experience has been like, as I cant work out how they have become a world wide company with customer service...

Blurb are quite good for large volume discount. Good or order tracking etc.....

Nothing but positive things to say about them, to be honest.
They don't discount, no, but then their album prices are reasonable for the quality you get - try Jorgensen or Queensbury and see how much more their albums are.
Graphi are a world-wide company, so you may have language issues but their HQ for the UK is normally great with me.
I'd suggest trying this number, if it's an issue getting through:

Harry, have you compared a Blurb book to a Graphi album? I wouldn't offer a £40 Blurb album as an alternative to a Graphi album!

True their prices are reasonable - but Jorgensen arn't that bad! have just been pricing up everything and their not at much different. Appart from you having to buy in to Jogensen before being able to do anything... But Jogensen albums are just worlds apart! they're fantastic - and I would always rather work with them than Queensbury (they can be hard to deal with)
No I wouldn't use blurb to create these little books as handouts not even close to considering!
I just couldn't believe the response from them I got called just some 'odd bod' and part of me just wishes I hadnt invested a lot of my work in them and just bit the bullet and gone to Jogenson for all of my albums rather than offering traditional albums from one comapny and digital albums from graphi...
oh well I guess we all learn.

Each to their own i suppose, you make it, they only print it.

There is a reason that graphi can charge what they charge for their books and thats because the quality is outstanding I make all of my books for graphistudio from scratch all the same and its not that thats the problem... its the customer service.
You do not have the versatility for wedding albums with blurb, if you have ever seen quite what you can do with a graphi album you wouldnt have suggested it for main album use however for the little guest books I would imagine they would be fine.
Oh well they have my money invested in them now so I guess I am stuck.

You make the versatility yourself, the printer only provides paper and ink.

For you to have said that you have never dealt with Graphi!! there are so many types of covers you can get, lots of different types of paper, tonnes of different sizes in different price ranges the list goes on...
Your blurb stuff yes is good as self promotion but I wouldn't be happy selling that at a reasonable price to a client.
But I too am in the same situation as you are having never dealt with graphi - I too have not dealt with blurb, but with graphi there is no split down the middle. I might look in to little books with them though perhaps as promotional give aways.?

I think it's just a case of looking at a Blurb book and a Graphi book - then see what the quality is like between them. Graphi wins hands down.
Little books from Graphi are quite reasonable though, when they're copies of original albums. :)
