There are all-women/beginners classes on Sidney Street next to the Old Niche night club on Thursdays, 7.30 -8.30pm. You'll be absolutely fine and should start seeing results after a couple of classes - really good for toning you up!

We have a beginners class on thursday like the Urbinator has already said.
Our class time is 730-830pm and all of them will be in the same boat as yourself. RE: worrying about not being any good. We dont expect anyone to be any good it is a class for beginners , dont worry we always have 2 instructors on site at a time so you will be well looked after.

Just turn up, just need t-shirt and tracky bottoms, trainers though you generally practice bare-foot.
Gloves, focus mitts and pads are provided.
If you enjoy it you can always get your own gloves later (Decathlon do cheap ones).
I'd definitely invest in some hand wraps aswell!

there is a female only kickboxing class at the 393 club on langsett rd Hillsborough - it has a female instructor as well.

they train Tuesday 6.15 - 7.15

they look pretty good ( i train mma after they finish so i have seen some of the things they do).

Its run by The Sheffield Academy of Martial Arts if you google the name im sure you'll find a web site. or just pop down and have a look.

primero ive been seeing this lass who had been to that 393 place and she cudnt even do a proper push kick and her kicks were flicky and no guard. now shes been doin a few of them classes at the sidney street gym near niche and shes gone better kicks harder and keeps er guard up and that. the thursday place all the way. it aint wicker camp but for a girl itll do
