Cheers to the council for a change for getting rid of the bench outside Lloyds chemist. I'm sure the little kidies playground behind the chemist will be now be home to the daily methadone fight club.

Well what? Evei 02-07-2005, 16:15 It will only move them somewhere else . I've seen on more then one occasion the poor bloke in Steers having to deal with them when they start to try to nick stuff or being rude to other customers. He's really good with them, but it must be extra hassle (and a bit scary) for the bloke when all he is trying to do is run his business. Most of them seem to be the old drunks who bicker between themselves and leave everyone else alone, but they do seem to atrract younger 'characters' in the early evenings which I feel can be intimidating. the_pikey 02-07-2005, 23:56 I've had the joy of walking past that soap opera of a bench twice a day for 3 years, I'd got to the point where I'd named all the "characters" and every day on my way to work I'd play imagined carnage special brew stories over in my head. Although I agree that they'll just camp on someone elses bench for a bit, at least I'll get served sharper at Steers and Queers. And the staff in that place are saints. |
