Yesterday I tandem jumped 13,000 feet for Charity in Nottingham.

I was on the last lift and finally managed to do my jump at 6.20pm last night.

Those Red Devils are absoluty fantastic.

But I would not do it agin.

How did you get a Tandam to go fast enough to jump 13,000 feet? Evil Knievel struggled over 12 buses, and he had a motorbike.

Good stuff Rosie, I echo all the others statements you are a lot braver than me.

I would have tried it years ago but the thought always went through my head that if anything went wrong with the jump how my wife and kids would explain away how I had died strapped to another man :o

MORE INFO

Why would I not do it agin, well the feeling you get when you jump from the plane into nothing is just terrfying not to mention for seconds you cant breath.
You jump with your tandem into whiteness and nothing else, very odd to not be able to grab anything, or see anyhting.

You go from 13,000 feet to 5,000 in seconds its amazing to feel. That bit I actually loved if truth be known. Had my own camera man filming it for my own dvd.

The worst was to come, as I am over 40 I had to get my doctors permission, adn I also suffer from positional vertigo (nothing to do with heights) as long as I took my tablets for 2 days before and the day of the jump I should have been ok.
Wrong.
As soon as the parachute opened and we spun I started to suffer an attack of vertigo, by the time I hit the ground it was horrible, I ended up having the doctor out when I got home for other medication to stop the sickness.

I hated that bit but I would not have give up at any time, it was for charityafter all.

The Red Devils were fantastic all the way through and if anyone was thinking of trying it go with them, they make the day fun and enjoyable.
