Hi

All martial taught correctly are good. It is the person own choice as to which suits them best.
If I were you I would go to as many clubs as time allows. Check the instructor’s credentials, ask to see them. If they are any good they will have them to hand. Ask if they are members of the governing body. It wont make them bad if they are not, but it will give you a way of checking they are who they say they are.

Above all avoid signing a contract that binds you to them for any period of time

Taekwondo (Mudo) will teach you kicking; some weapons skills along with self defence. It is good fun and most people keep coming back.

Feel free to come down, have a look around, talk to people who are training (and me)

If your interested in Judo, send me a PM as I have been running a class for 5 year old upwards on a Saturday Morning. Its a gentle introduction to Judo with lots of games to help build confidence, and techniques as well (emphasis for this age group is fun).

They still do the Karate lessons, although our Sensei's usually reluctant to take anyone under 6 for insurance and safety reasons.

Hi we teach Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for kids at the Forge near Bramall Lane. We take children from age 5 upwards. We teach a little punching and kicking, throws, locks etc. But most of our training is grappling which involves a lot of rolling around on the floor!! It's a great martial art for kids. My son is five and he loves it and been doing it over a year. The classes are 5.15 -6 Monday and Wednesday. £3.50 a lesson with no contracts, direct debits etc. If you would like any further details send me a pm. Thanks, Noel

We run a kids class Mon 5.30pm, £5. the Forge BJJ sounds good aswell..

Also try Sheffield Boxing centre, they teach kids, best bet is to try a few different clubs and see which your kid prefers..

I strongly do recommend this class. There are no hidden charges and the instructors are friendly and approachable.

Cheers Farhad for that. Hope to see your wee son soon and I hope to get back down to AFK once I'm properly healed up from the pneumonia (again!!).
