Researchers took 22 samples from surfaces in toilets adjoining bars used by MPs and their guests in the Commons, and from lavatories on the first floor of the House of Lords. About 50mg of cocaine was found outside the offices of the Lord Chancellor, Lord Irvine (a reporter hastened to add that there was no suggestion that the Lord Chancellor had been taking the drug).

Tests were also made at three bars in the Commons; three of the samples found there, including one from a women's lavatory, tested positive for traces of the drug. A gram of cocaine costing $58 (£40) can provide between 10 and 20 lines, giving four people enough of a hit to keep them awake for many hours of parliamentary sittings.

A couple of years ago this was only present in the bars frequented by 'The Sheffield Glitterati' and only on weekends. Now it seems every pub/bar/club in the City Centre has traces of people taking coke on any night. It also seems to be spreading out towards 'local' pubs.

Is it just me just noticing it more or are we just a more hedonistic bunch now?

I assume a lot of it is speed opposed to coke. Where are these people who can afford to leave a bit of coke on toilet seats? I must be in the wrong job :D

the use of illicit drugs worldwide has jumped by around 15 million regular (not nec. heavy) users.

I've noticed a rise in the amount of coked up people around.

A lot of it probably relates to the price lowering and the accessability increasing.

corporation toilets have a great picture up in there,loads of over head shots from a cubicle of people doing everything,snorting skinning sucking etc...not real of course,but its a funny picture

before disco biscuits were the drug of choice due to price, now coke is cheaper its a lot more prominant.

As the coke doesnt need a thumping bassline to get you high, the drug users have moved from clubs more into pubs and late night bars.

I was once at a nightclub where the police did the coke test, with swabs and kit. We were told that most banknotes have some trace of it on them and this can be lead to a positive result on most peoples hands as the trace needed to trigger the test is minute.

Apparently WD40, sprayed onto the porcelain cisterns and liberally rubbed on, renders lines of charlie into an unsnortable goop.

Is anyone else as amused as me to see Pabloescobar's first post relates to cocaine usage? :hihi:

Apparently (according to my mates brother who's a bit strange and may or may not be lying...), in the blokes toilets in the devonshire cat theres pepper sprinkled on the surfaces in the cubicle to stop people doing coke. I couldn't see any in the ladies though so I duno if hes lying, im sure theres more effective ways of stopping people then sprinkling pepper everywhere,

Theres a lot more coke heads on Devonshire Green these days, and I know a lad who's just permanantly on coke and he aint that rich, so the price must be going down.
