Can anyone tell me what's become of the pop band Pulp? I know Jarvis lives in France now, but are there any future tour dates planned etc?

BoroughGal 30-06-2005, 19:24 He says here (http://www.malefirst.co.uk/34992004-ent.html) that they are "hibernating" and will come back at some point.... dishwasher 01-07-2005, 07:37 Does 'hibernating' mean they haven't got a record contract at the moment, or is that a cynical interpretation? redinsheff 01-07-2005, 07:59 I believe that generally tends to be the case! MTheo 01-07-2005, 12:44 apparantly jarvis has hit on hard times and has had to sell his clothes BACK to oxfam. disco 2000 was good, common people was good...jarvis was a dick. wherever HE is he can stay. Pretty much :P But they have close ties to Rough Trade, so if they wanted to get one it wouldnt be too difficult. Chris_Sleeps 03-07-2005, 10:04 Jarvis is a God. :P Pulp went on hiatus after their last album was ignored by everyone and Jarvis is now working on a project called 'Relaxed Muscle' that was also painfully ignored. When Pulp were good it made Oasis and Blur look like amateurs. :) Chris. They had a couple of good songs which were big hits, but I don't think many people would buy their stuff if they attempted a comeback. I disagree, I think you ony have to aquire the 'His'n'Hers' CD to know that they were without rival at one point. I think they were loads better as 'also rans,'in the background making the most important music. But 'fame, fame, fatal fame' almost did for them, giving them an over-inflated sense of their own importance. If Jarvis is reading this, and let's face it, why shouldn't he be, He should do some local gigs to get back some of that lust for music that you can feel on tracks like 'Razzmatazz' 'do you remember the first time?' and 'Babies.' If they want I will organise a local gig for them and we could sell tickets on Sheffield Forum. Come on lads, we hold out our hands to you. And those who have said bad things about our favourite sons and daughter can go and **** themselves. ;) StarSparkle 03-07-2005, 14:37 Originally posted by miniminch I disagree, I think you ony have to aquire the 'His'n'Hers' CD to know that they were without rival at one point. The music world needs individuals like you desperately. What's Paris got that Sheffield hasn't? oh, ok....forget I said that.... StarSparkle PS Pulp are up there among the Greats - their performance at Glastonbury 1995 still stands out - it completely outshone anything I saw of Glastonbury 2005. I had the privilege of seeing Pulp live around 94, and few bands could touch them for sheer class and performance. antics 03-07-2005, 22:42 I thought they split up. I saw Jarvis and his bird at a Morrissey concert in Paris in November, lol. |
