Hi all I started the morning with 2 Gerbils. By mid afternoon I only had one. His name was Hendrix and he was 2 1/2. Over the last few months a scent gland tumour had been getting bigger and bigger. I decided to take him to the vets but she said that he probably would make it through an operation so advised on him being put to sleep. This decision was also made on the basis that he was eating it and making it bleed. He could have heamorraged (sp?).

Anyway on my return home Gurt the remaining one looked so lonely so I decided to go out and buy him a friend and ended up buying 2 around 8 weeks old. I got them yourng because I have read it is easier to introduce babies to an older gerbil. I was going to use the split cage method however, I decided to clean out and disinfect the entire cage and whilst doing this have them all together seperately in a large box. When I put them into their new home they were fine and still are. I was pretty luckily as I know how bad it is when gerbils fight. I have previously use this technique when I introduced Hendrix to Gurt and was successful. I think it is because Gurt is a very nice gerbil.

So I have 3 male gerbils all together now however I dont have any names for them. Do you have any ideas
