Anyone know what happened to the Simunye Cafe on London Rd. I noticed it became the RESPECT HQ during the election but I thought it was just them nailing their colours to the mast so to speak, but now it's a hairdressers? Has it goone altogether or relocated?

They are moving, think funding may be an issue tho' as AFAIK they were at the end of a grant.
"Simunye has closed it's cafe at 229 London Road and are in the process of moving to new premises nearby - We hope to re-open around the end of May / early June and look forward to seeing you there." (simunye.co.uk)
I've been looking for them all month, I was told that they were moving to double fronted premises formerly a furniture shop just down the road - is this the place next to Neils?
I hope they do get funding, it would be a sad thing for Sheffield to lose such a fantastic multiethnic, multicultural but most of all multiwelcoming resource.
Folk at Simunye - I write EU funding bids for a living, do you need any help?
Anyone know if Simunye still exist? And if so, where and do they have a website? Cheers for any help you can give!
sorry peapodd, they've definitely gone, yet another example of public funds being used to develop a really worthwhile social enterprise which really seemed to have the caspacity to become self-sustaining but in the end failed. Perhaps too much emphasis on the social bit and not the enterprise. Its a real shame, Simunye was great. But hey, there's loads of money swilling around the region for social enterprise at the moment, maybe someone will read this, be inspired and we will have son of simunye!
