Mine would be - Blade Trilogy Dracula (Gary Oldman) Underworld Shelectric 31-03-2009, 12:18 Lost boys, its so funny. lubylou 31-03-2009, 13:22 Love at first bite :hihi: Solomon1 31-03-2009, 13:23 Love at first bite :hihi: maaan! had completey forgotten about this one :) Beakerzoid 31-03-2009, 14:17 Near Dark is definitely my favourite vamp-flick. jacbaye 24-05-2009, 17:51 From Dusk till Dawn (sort of - someone said you must watch this great film about vampires - if you've seen it you'll know how confused I was up until the last 15 mins or so) Let the Right One in is one of my favourites ones at the moment. Interview with a vampire is pretty awesome too. EdnaKrabappe 24-05-2009, 17:58 Interview with the vampire and The Lost Boys here. None of that Twilight teen angst pap. Beakerzoid 24-05-2009, 23:40 Interview with the vampire and The Lost Boys here. None of that Twilight teen angst pap. Wholeheartedly agree (along with still loving Near Dark over anything else). Twilight is terrible! Interview With The Vampire was the first film that had me impressed with Tom Cruise. I'm a huge fan of the books, and was in despair when he was cast as Lestat, the most beloved rogue of any vampire tale. However, when I saw the film I was gobsmacked at how accurate his portrayal was. As for Lost Boys - great film (even if it is a little dated) Ghostrider 25-05-2009, 09:58 Love at first bite :hihi:If I remember correctly, isnt that the one with Adam Ant - used to love that film :D EdnaKrabappe 25-05-2009, 10:38 Wholeheartedly agree (along with still loving Near Dark over anything else). As for Lost Boys - great film (even if it is a little dated) Yeah I remember feeling that Cruise had been completely miscast in the role and the film sans River Phoenix was going to be a complete mistake. He was an amazing Lestat though and Slater played Molloy well as did Pitt playing Louis. I wished they'd made the Vampire Lestat into a film as well (it started production but never went very far) although it stands very differently as a book to IWTV. Queen of the Damned was pap and didn't work. Queen of the Damned was pap and didn't work. The mistake they made was condensing elements of QotD and Lestat into one film, then making it like an MTV music vid, losing the style that the first film had. I remember sitting watching QotD and despairing at how totally wrong everything was! It would have been great for the series of films to continue on a book by book basis, and I'd have loved to have seen Memnoch made into film (or, indeed, the later books such as Blood & Gold and Blackwood Farm - although would they have done spin off 'Mayfair Witches' films first? I guess we will never know.) All the cast were fabulous in Interview - even when tweaks were made to their character's image (Armand didn't look very young boylike with curly hair to me, but Banderas did convey the sensuality of the role enough to overlook this flaw). Have you read any of Rice's religious stuff? I haven't but am tempted. It just seemed such an about turn for me. Sorry completely off topic - Vampires are ace! Philisan 26-05-2009, 07:31 I can't decide between 'Twins of Evil', 'The Vampire Lovers' and 'To Love a Vampire'. (I'm not an intellectual). Beakerzoid 26-05-2009, 07:47 Have you read any of Rice's religious stuff? I haven't but am tempted. It just seemed such an about turn for me. Sorry completely off topic - Vampires are ace! Only read the Vampire Chronicles and the Mayfair Witches trilogy. Karis 26-05-2009, 07:54 Have you read any of Rice's religious stuff? I haven't but am tempted. It just seemed such an about turn for me. It's complete pap. I never know how these writers get published. As for good vampire movies: Salem's Lot does it for me, along with Fright Night and one of my favourite movies of all time: The Twins Effect (which you must see at once). green.jeni 11-06-2009, 15:09 i litle blood the vampire, the feature length film is out soon manga version is also great hoba 11-06-2009, 15:25 Frank Langella was the best Dracula. Fact. :) Although I'm going to see Nosferatu at the cathedral tomorrow night, and that should be amazing. Going back to Anne Rice, has anyone read Vittorio the Vampire? If you haven't, don't bother as it's rubbish. It seemed mainly a way for Rice to go on and on about Florentine art rather than actually tell a decent story. I stopped paying attention when angels started appearing. There's an afterword at the end where Rice suggests the book was actually the diary of Vittorio himself, and he gave it to her when she met him on a trip to Florence. I lost a lot of respect for her then. Little_Extra 23-06-2009, 09:44 Gotta agree with Karis...'Salem's Lot is an amazing vampire film! It's actually one of the only films I've ever found scary. Of course, I'm talking about the Tobe Hooper directed original, not the Rob Lowe starring remake. That was a more accurate adaptation of the book, but it was just a bit poo! I still haven't seen Let The Right One In, but I enjoyed the book massively, so if it's nearly as good as that then I need to get my skates on! elvira666 17-10-2009, 09:21 got to be lost boys Rah Rah Rah 23-10-2009, 12:35 Queen of the Damned, as it had Stuart Townsend in, and in it, he was lead singer of a band:love: PinkJo 19-11-2009, 17:39 Fright night lol I loved Lost Boys, think Blade is my fave tho. Have yet to watch Day Watch and Night Watch which I believe may have vampires in too???? TylerXIII 20-11-2009, 11:20 my favorite vampire film is 'Blade' shortly followed by 'Jon Carpenters Vampires' and 'Dusk til Dawn' (only the first one, haven't seen the rest of the trilogy) KATIEB_23 20-11-2009, 11:25 my favorite vampire film is 'Blade' shortly followed by 'Jon Carpenters Vampires' and 'Dusk til Dawn' (only the first one, haven't seen the rest of the trilogy)Totally agree with you there :) (btw don't waste your time with the rest of the Dusk Til Dawns :() Edited to add: 30 Days of Night - fab Lost Boys - classic! TylerXIII 20-11-2009, 14:22 Totally agree with you there :) (btw don't waste your time with the rest of the Dusk Til Dawns :() I have been putting some thought to getting the box set from hmv, but now I'll spend my cash on something a little better, thanx KATIEB_23 20-11-2009, 14:40 I have been putting some thought to getting the box set from hmv, but now I'll spend my cash on something a little better, thanxYep - they've got absolutely nothing in common with the original... Different directors (who have never made anything else famous), different writers, different unknown actors. The only actor from the original is Danny Trejo (http://uk.imdb.com/name/nm0001803/) but as a different character anyway  To be honest I am suprised they are legally allowed to use the name 'Dusk Til Dawn' in the title at all... they should have been called "A Vampire Film Made by Some Unknown Bloke Who Once Watched Dusk Till Dawn" Glad to save someone some money :) tone espejo 22-11-2009, 21:05 It has to be Interview with the Vampire which is the unltimate vampire film, Dracula 2001 because Gerard Butler put a totally new spin and love the fact that they made Dracula Judas instead of the turkish war lord. Underworld just because of the style od the film. But Blade is a classic and so is Lost Boys, then theres the hammer horror Dracula and Nosferatu.Vampyre. I just love the genre. I just don't like the pre pubescent Twilight crap that trys to be something its not. AliG99 09-01-2010, 12:56 Lost Boys and 30 Days of Night! There are probabaly more that ive forgotten about as well but these ones i can watch over and over again! shieldon 15-01-2010, 14:18 DRACULA still hexxville 20-01-2010, 12:45 lost boys and dusk til dawn. tone espejo 21-01-2010, 17:40 Frank Langella was the best Dracula. I lost a lot of respect for her then. Ahh i have to disagree I have read all of the vampire chronicals and I loved this tale. It was something different. Something from a different time period when art was a huge thing. I must admit that I love Menoch the devil and have to say it is one of my favourites but I wouldnt like it to be made into a movie because I love the imagery created by my own mind of heaven and hell. I couldnt bare watching something on screen that didnt live up to what I pictured from reading the book. I think it would be too hard! Karis 21-01-2010, 17:51 Fright Night Salem's Lot Both cracking movies! vulpine 01-02-2010, 12:28 Lost Boys Near Dark Interview with a vampire chanser 03-02-2010, 07:39 I'm not a huge fan of Vampire films but I love the original Salems Lot. 30 days of night wasn't bad either. madagasca 03-02-2010, 09:22 Not much of a fan of Salems Lot, but I did like Twilight, not everyone's cup of tea but I liked it, also Lost Boys, Interview with a Vampire................. mobilenats 03-02-2010, 09:28 twilight 4ever,iv watched it over a dozen times and new moon is evan better,i wud love to be a vampire lol GD4eva 13-02-2010, 08:26 from dusk till dawn is one of my faves! vwkittie 14-02-2010, 18:54 Interview With The Vampire followed by Lost Boys for me as well!
