2nd of my two little scorpions died over the weekend :(
Cute little chap he was.

Now that means I have an empty tank waiting for a new occupant and I'm looking for suggestions :)

I have 3 tanks for little critters, two are occupied by spiders so don't want a spider for the 3rd (empty one).

Probably end up with another scorpion, but I want to consider other small animals.

Anyone kept assassin bugs before? They look like fun. Are they ok to be kept in a small group or will they eat each other?

What about frogs? Would probably prefer quiet ones, certainly colourful ones. Any one know of any small, quiet Dendrobatidae spp?
I've not kept frogs before so it would have to be one of the beginner spp of frog.

Other suggestions for inverts?
Considered a large centipede, but not sure tank is large enough/secure enough for a centipede.

Suggest any others?

Hello,
If your looking for an easy beginner frog I would go for a White's Tree frog, I had 2 but one died so have the one now. They are not so colourful but they do change depending on the temp so if you use a heater they will become very olive green/blue green depending on where they orriginate from. Alternatly the ones which I love and are amazing to look at are red eyed tree frogs but they do require more care so maybe not for a begginer. Never had poison dart frogs so not sure about those, however I do know that they can be quite difficult to keep, you would be best speaking to a local reptile shop and finding out more there.

i keep assasin bugs, i did for many many years but found some babies a few weeks ago online, so are tiny....

i like them, its great to watch them stalk live food, and pounce and stick the probe in to the insect and eat it. they wont eat each other if they have food....

i like flat rock scorps, keep them at the mo but desert hairy are nice.
