He is a vicar and must, I assume have a direct line to god. Therefore we must deduce that this is god's will (if the money is forthcoming). There is always the possibility that god doesn't like this particular vicar and has provided him with temptation to deliberately trip him up.
Or is it the devil that pulls these stunts, I get confused? Anyway, I'm quite happy to chip in a pound. Is there an address in the Star to send domations to?
Don't see what all the fuss is about. The church has always liked to accumulate property. He's just showing initiative and gets slated for it.
Yes, one of the most well off organisations in the world still asking for money. I dont think so. 9 bedroomed church house, i'm sorry, but you dont complain wen you live in a 9 bedroomed house, he needs to either clear some of the crap out, or stop being so blooming ungrateful. Some people still have to manage with one room, nevermind 9 bedrooms alone

This is a ridiculous story and I think the vicar is completely out of order for making a request for money. I can't understand why such a small church [congregation wise] should feel the need to have an entire house as office space. I can understand that he may very well not want to mix up his domestic life with his church work but if he can't incorporate an office in the house then maybe some space in the church could be allocated. I'm sorry but the guy needs to get some priorities straight.
