Couple of questions (I'll keep it simple!)
1. Is it possible to change the windows start-up/shut-down music?
2. Is it possible to change my desktop icons into other pictures?

1) Not sure, why would you want to? :?
2) Yes, quite easily, you can find icon sets etc easily online... try somewhere like www.themexp.org

Should imagine you should be able to do this (you can in Win 98 - so there is no reason why XP can't do it) as it'll simply be a .wav file.
See if X-Setup Pro (http://www.x-setup.net/) helps (it's free)!
Actually, they've gone and made it shareware:(!

1:. goto control panel------>sounds and audio.
and click the sounds tab.
2:. open up an explorer window (eg. my computer) click on tools----> folder options. and click on the file types tab.
click the icon u want to change press advanced then change icon.
hope this helps mate
When I first bought this pc, I changed my start-up music to something I preferred, I think I use "Microsoft Sound".
As for icons, right click on the icon, click on properties, and then change icon. There's a whole range of icons that you can choose from, but why would you want to change them anyway?

Thanks for your help.
I've managed to find a MP3 to Wav converter, taken clips from my favorite tunes and used them to start up and close down windows.
Cheers:clap:
