This would of been taken at the very beginning of the 20th Century.

It rings a bell, but I can't think where it is.

Hi,
This is New Miller Dam on the Wakefield Road / Barnsley Road.
The building across the dam was a boat house now
a cafe'.

Just looked on google earth & yes it's new miller dam, lots of images on there too

Hi again,
Just an observation regarding what Gingerbarf wrote.
Don't take all Google Earth's signage as read.
For instance when looking at New Miller Dam
and panning over the blue squares it informs you
that there at least 3 boat houses in the middle of trees.
I can vouch for the fact that there is only one
boat house and that is at the side of the dam
as the picture shows.
