Sick sick sick............I can't believe this could happen in my home town

news story here (http://www.sheffieldtoday.co.uk/ViewArticle2.aspx?SectionID=58&ArticleID=1068942)

A poor defenceless animal already in bad condition due to possible ill treatment, left to die in the woods.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact RSPCA inspector Graeme Petty via the national 24-hour cruelty and advice line on 0870 5555 999.

If the person is caught by the police, I suggest a similar fate should befall him/her

That is disgusting. How could anyone do that to an animal. IMO if they are sick enough to do that to a dog htey have no respect for life and deserve a sever punishment. If I saw that happening, I would take the lead and strangle the ****ers with it.

Bloody disgrace. Can we stop these morons breeding????

It's disgusting. I heard on radio 2 where a lady found a retired greyhound, dumped in a bin with its ears cut off and left to die. Luckily she found it just in time and the dog still managed to wag its tail.

It bought tears to my eyes.:(

It is indeed very sad.

But your hometown is just as bad as anywhere else in this now horrible country.

i love my dogs and it sickens me to know people do this. both my dogs are rescue dogs, one was beaten and has sticky out ribs but is the best dog ever, the other was a pup when i got him and is so loving although a bit giddy. people like this should be banned for life and checked up on regualry

I hope whoever did this dies a horrible death.

I'd normally want to make some apologies at this point, but I don't see how I could justify such an action.

If the person is caught by the police, I suggest a similar fate should befall him/her   That is totally hideous! Anybody who could be that cruel to animal would do the same to a human - they would be complete cowards though and wouldn't pick on anyone who could fight back. Plain evil, I hope they catch whoever did it but I know the sentence couldn't possibly fit the crime

If Rusty the greyhound is the one that Joanna was thinking about, he didn't survive. Rusty was found on a rubbish tip last year whimpering. He had been shot in the head and his ears had been hacked off (greyhounds are tattoo'ed in both ears and registered), the poor dog was later put to sleep because of the injuries. Fortunatly, the man responsible was given the maximum plenty of 6 months.

There's more information on Rusty here - http://www.greyhoundaction.org.uk/justiceForRusty.htm

I tell you something. i would gladly put a bullet in someones head for who did this.
As for the post above with the greyhound. I guess they cut the ears off because of the tattoo - be able to trce where it came from.

it really ****ing winds me up. How can people be so cruel to something so helpless?

I too hate to hear this kind of thing to happen.

Anyone that lives in shirecliffe area will rember the rottwiler fad were a lot of peoples rottweiler got stolen,i got one of these dogs and she was just a pup at the time,i desided to have her micro chiped so if she did go missing i be able to tell if she my dog.one of my neighbours on the road aslo got a rottweiler and was a lovely dog and saw this person a lot of times with his dog.
but one day this dog went missing and 3 days later it got found in wood bit of buskmedows, and it had it's back of neck cut,now the owner was told the people who stole his dog tried to take the mico chip out of the dog as it had a tag on stateing this and bleed to death.and they cut the dog in placed were vets place the chip.

i was so glad to leave that area.
