The hedgehog in my garden has begun to venture out of the winter hibernation nest I built last autumn. Can I ask the drivers out there to watch out for them on the roads at night. They will be very hungry and will be scurrying about looking for food.
Spring has sprung
Frogs in my pond are bonking like mad, should have spawn soon.
I would always avoid any animal when driving, However, regarding hedgehogs the problem is that when one is crossing the road and hear any noise, they freeze and stay where they are instead of running. That is why they get killed, tragic but what can one do about it? :( :( :(
halevan, there is a device you can fit to your car which emits a loud noise, inaudible to humans, which scares away animals as you approach. I'm sure it was mentioned in The Star this week in a letter, but the page I saved was the wrong one!

How much does this device cost?
Not sure of the price, less than a tenner I would hope, it's not rocket science. Please note that 'science' is one of the few exceptions to the 'i before e except after c' rule.
Thanks I will make enquiries! :D :o

I won't rant again, I did that a while ago!!! I stop the car, get out, pick up the little beast and place him/her on the side of the road, then get back in the car, watch to see if it walks off so as to make sure i've put it to the correct side it was trying to get to. This usually takes an amazing couple of minutes out of my hectic life, but I do feel better for it.
