Does anyone here have itunes? If so maybe you can help.
In my library I've got duplicates of most of my music in the worst instances I've got 5 copies of one song!
I haven't to my knowledge copied the songs my self and it's only on the itunes library that the copies exist (ie I only have one copy of each song on my hard drive). What the hell is going on?
Please help me!

When i copy complations to i-tunes i usually find i end up with duplicates, also with live albums etc it just lists the name but they are usually different versions of the same song.
if this is the case Trentboy i go to edit then - Show all duplicates, then you'll have to un- check the boxes so you only have one copy
I hope this works, if not it does indeed sound like a nightmare
You could try checking to see if they are indeed different files by right-clicking, selecting Get Info and looking at the Where field (on a pc, I haven't a clue how you'd do it on a mac ;)) for each one. If they are different tracks, shouldn't the Album name differentiate them? If of course you have all your ID info set right... (I'm a bit anal about that, but it does help with issues like this!)
i believe it happens due to letting itunes sort and manage ur songs for u...
if u have the 'keep itunes music folder organised' box checked in preferences, it takes all ur songs and copies them into new folders sorted by album name, etc....
i have mine unchecked coz it messes everythign up
