I actually worked there twice. once in very early 70s and then late 70s.
I was racking knife blades and also polishing.
A lad called Terry who had learning difficulties and lived on Hartley Brook Rd was always put on the degreaser, with acid etc and the poor lad once had an accident on it.
Sadly i think this guy passed away at a young age.
I also remember him dragging the full rack of blades from me and taking a bit of my finger with it, the first aider was millie. who rushed me to the infirmary.
There was a lovely lass with walking difficulties called val, an older lady from shiregreen called mary and a scots lass called mary who was always borrowing money.
Someone called Denise Pratt also worked there.
Anyone else work there.

My mum worked there in the early 60s (before your time Tara). She worked on the inspection of knife blades. Her name was Ethel King and sadly she passed away 5 years ago. She always talked with fondness about her time there.
