I have broken PC monitor that I would like to get rid of. Ideally I'd like to see it recycled but if it has to be binned, it has to be binned. To add to the matter I don't drive so I really need something in the S1/2 area.

Tip it, the regulations dont come in till later this year/early next year. If I had a car and it worked, I'd take it off your hands. Or drop it into cash converters, might only get a few quid, but its better then nowt.

There's a place at the top of Paternoster Row - can't remember what it's called for life of me, but I took my old one there.

Recyce, maybe??? I'll keep thinking...

Aren't all the tips now recycling centres?

One place on Paternoster Row has turned it down, not sure if its the same one.

Not sure cash converters would pay anything as its broken.

Have emailed Sheffield City Council, see what they tell me to do, but if they scrap it I'll keep looking for a greener option till I move

OK, for anyone interested I have spoken to Onyx who have said it can't be put in the normal waste because of the bulk, I have two options through them:

Take it to a recycle centre (nearest = Gleedless)
or
Pay £30 to have it collected

try freecycling it first (pop freecycle into a search engine), if no joy then keep plugging away and find a charity or company that will take it,revamp it and reuse it. I managed it eventually, it was a slog and they were in notts (but t'other half works there so he dropped it off !) just don't bin it !!!!

I am on free cycle, in fact have got rid of all my working stuff there but figured it was a bit cheaky trying to get shut of a broken monitor.

Went to a recycling point in the end, and a stern email was sent to onyx
