Hi folks,

I'm looking for some advice on what to do with our Mira Sport shower. Its about 6/7 years old and is on the blink. After looking at other threads about why this might be, I'd hazard a guess at the flow regulator or thermostat.

The question is of course, would I be better off buying a new shower, and if so, what type should I go for? Reason I ask that is because last year we had a new combi-system put in, and what I can't quite get my head round the pros/cons of different types of showers running off a combi-system.

Anyway, appreciate your thoughts.

The sport is electric the disadvantage for me of electric is they always lack the power of one run from a combi boiler, the advantage is when your boiler goes on the blink you still have hot water.
I personally prefer showers run from the combi boiler I have got a cheap mira coda it was no more than £130 it lets plenty of water through and its thermostatic which means when someone flushes the toilet or washes the pots you dont end up with 3rd degree burns it just limits the hot to balance out the temperature.
I would like one of those fixed shower heads that go in the ceiling like having a bucket of water tipped over you!!

I think with a shower like yours you can try mira who will come out and fix the product for a one off fee. sorry I don't know how much or if they still do this. Other than that just replace it.
