Hi

I have a Sanyo Xacti camcorder and we had a lot of videos on the SD card in it, some of which was my husbands work.
On trying to play the card now it says there is nothing on it?
Is there anywhere i can go who can recover what was on there?
I have tried in the past downloading programs that recover files without success so am reluctant to take that route.

Thanks for any help

Cath

You probably need a USB memory card reader.

Plug the SD card into the memory card reader and it'll be picked up as an external hard drive, and hopefully your stuff will be on it.

I've used the SD reader that's on my printer and it's showing as blank.

just a thought, but could the sd slot on printer be faulty? do you know this works? try using another sd slot elsewhere.

[QUOTE=CathS;4817156]No its definitely working cause I used it to take some photos off another SD card this afternoon.[/QUOTEcan you view the videos on sd card through camcorder, if so the printer may not support the video formatt.

If it is wiped, it *can* be possible to recover if you haven't written to the card afterwards. You will need some recovery software (something like this, google has loads of them:http://www.softwarepatch.com/tips/howto-file-recovery.html).

Hopefully just the partition table is damaged and the data's all still there. I've managed to rescue data off mine once under Linux, by using a combination of the "gpart" and "parted" commands.

Please don't try this based on my say-so, but I think you could achieve something similar on Windows with the "quick format" option.

Recuva (http://www.recuva.com/) is very successful with memory cards; however it is vital that you set it to do a 'deep scan' otherwise it finds nothing at all.

You should also set Recuva to include undeleted files

Unfortunately not. Know anyone with a PC?
