If we win, the top 2 would be real possibilities, if we lose we could just about kiss them goodbye.. The confirmed team today is:
Kenny
Halford
Naysmith
Cotts
Morgs
Killa
Henderson
MONTY
O'Toole
Quinn
Naughton
Subs: Lupoli, Ward, Beattie, Howard, Bromby

Ward really should have got a start, and i dont know why Monty is back in the team.. Oh Well

UTB!

Why are Radio Sheffield baffled by the Halford sub? Blackwell clearly took him off cause he's booked, great decision by Blackie IMO with this referee.

2 points behind Reading and playing them on Good Friday, 5 points behind Birmingham with a game in hand.

you have given yourselves a great chance of automatic promotion .

They have one game in hand on us and we're 3 point ahead of them with a far superior goal difference.

Brum seem to be buckling under the pressure as do Reading, we have a game in hand on Brum who i believe are 5 points ahead of us.

the international break has come at a bad time, just as we're getting up a head of steam! Just hope Cotts gets through it unscathed if selected - he's the key to promotion.

We always seem to struggle after these breaks... Four games in ten days straight after too (Ipswich & Barnsley at home, Reading away and Forest at the Lane on Easter Monday)...

I listened to it on the radio.

The cardiff fans just kept getting riled up by the ref. (so funny) and then right at the end of the match, paddy kenny goes and says somthing to the cardiff fans, which nearly caused a riot.

After the second man got sent off I though maybe it was leading to the match being abandoned, I thought the match was very aggresive, but calmed down alot in the second half.

This was a BIG win for us! If we keep our heads down and win games. and hope birmingham and reading have a few unlucky results we have a chance at automatic.

Although I honestly think, playoffs is gonna be our ticket to the premiership.

Wolves, Birmingham and Reading or the Blades?

I used to live in Wales and went to a few Cardiff games they were ok on the whole but they do have a pretty strong hooligan element which come from all over the shop, the worse i experianced in Wales was Wrexham they can be pretty hostile, saying that i was at the Racecourse Ground for Wrexham v Chester so that didn't help lol.

Yeh they do have a bad reputation. At Swansea the away fans are completely fenced in! The coaches pull into the car park outside the away end and thats it, you've got to go in the ground as theres a big 8 foot fence stopping you from getting anywhere!

I went to Luton a few seasons back and that was pretty rough, the town as a whole was a proper dump and the ground seemed like it had, had its fair share of riots, a few cuthroat signs were delivered to the away end that day aswell.
Bristol City can be quite bad aswell.

Never been to Millwall. Stoke & Birmingham are the same though, both of those the away fans are fenced in. Although at Stoke its not quite as bad, you can walk round the ground and stuff before the game but I've been there before where we've been kept in the car park after the match and had the Stoke fans trying to get at us.

The penalty & first sending off looks cast iron - Henderson was ahead of the last man, and he brought him down with just the keeper to beat. Very poor tackle really.

It's unclear on the second sending off - certainly it looks like McCormack throws the elbow back into Naughton's face, but whether accidental or not it's hard to say on the video - the Cardiff cameraman looks like he was on the beer, he managed to miss the half of the goal where Wardy headed the second! Looked like the standard of a You've Been Framed video... :)

As Henderson had twice been sent off this season for similar challenges that the camera missed, it's good to see it evened up a bit. The ref must be really tough though, it's not a place to give decisions against the home team usually...

After the second sending off the ref didn't give a foul against Cardiff until the 80th minute.

I think taking Halford off was a wise choice, no doubt the ref would have been looking to even things up.

Well according to google, Croydon to Loftus Rd is 12.8 miles (41 mins) by car... or if you fancy a walk, 11.8 miles (3 hours 54 minutes!!). Or by tube just over an hour to white city (but apparently a lot of the tube may be closed that weekend...)

I was speaking to a doghead mate of mine, and his view is the same as mine, which is that Cardiff will blow up and bottle it. He should know more than me as well. His words were "Davy Jones side - bottlers.".

He was at Wolves a few years ago.

i think the FA need to keeep a very very close eye on Warnocks team selection for that game .

What, you mean on a day when we could need a decent result when Reading play Birmingham? What makes you think that :)

Just seen the goals on SSN. The cameraman didn't even pick the second one up properly!!

Both sendings off were harsh aswell I think, although by the letter of the law, they both had to go. The first one he was the last man and for the second, he apparantly swung an arm at Naughton (I couldn't really tell from only seeing it once)

I only saw them on TV as well, but the first looked right. If he gives the penalty, the defender has to walk. It wasn't a particularly malicious challenge, but he was definitely the last man, and definitely fouls Relish.

The second I watched over and over on the TV (I hate the Austramerican, but that rewind lark on Sky+ is great for this sort of thing!), and I couldn't see an elbow really, and certainly nothing that warranted Kyle going down like he did. Harsh, to say the least.

Regarding the sending offs yesterday Killa didn't deserve to be sent off v the Pigs and Hendo didn't deserve to be sent off v Swansea so sod the Taffs, they might have been dealt a bad hand with the second sending off but incompitent refs are now part of the game.

i think mr warnock would hopefully do us a favour, i cant see palace making playoffs now
up the blades

My view on this that Warnock should put out a strong side regardless of what the outcome will affect us.

We've been harshly conned in seasons gone by with teams fielding weakened sides against our rivals.

It is annoying when that happens.

We shouldn't need his help anyways

And because of that I think he will have to pull out all the stops and play his strongest side just to avoid the Media jumping on his back.

I think the further south you go the more hassle it can be, im off to QPR on easter Monday, ive never been there so im warey but it should be a giggle, any idea how far Croyden is from central London atall?

Young lad just got back after going to coventry and QPR and said he never saw a hint of trouble at either match.
Been to QPR myself and never seen any bother either, If you want it I am sure its there but if you dont, well you will be alright.

P.S. A brilliant result for the Blades yesterday.
Would have been happy with a point to be honest.
Automatic promotion is within our grasp but, dont wanna get too giddy but win our 4 home matches and with our away record you just never know ;)

I can second that, I was in O’Leary’s talking to locals with no problem at all, shame they didn’t have more bar staff though.

eally good Result yesterday- It will have made everyone in the division sit up and take notice. I still think we should just concentrate in getting enough points for the playoffs and if we are in the mix for automatic promo at the end of the season then so be it.

2 losses and we could be back in 6th or 7th so lets not count any chickens yet.

i think it wil go down to the last day to be honest , a lot of teams are only split by a few points

Great result. I have to say though I am definitely no Blackwell fan. I'm not sure the result would have been the same had they had 11 men. I think it was a mistake to drop Ward and an even bigger one to bring Montgomery back. I don't think there are many people who agree with Blackwell's team selections. He's a lucky manager but not a decent one in my opinion.

I think we can definitely push for automatic and I believe we can get something at Reading but only if he picks the right team. I don't like this 4-3-3 formation as the radio calls it. I'd call it 4-5-1 and too defensive. We are good enough to play 4-4-2 and win.

whatever he wants to call it (451 or 433), it seems to work pretty well away, so I think he deserves some credit for that. Having that extra midfield bite didn't hurt...

And he did make the change to bring on Ward, which paid off straight away in the second half - he's made a lot of mistakes, but give him credit where it's due! A bit unfair to say he's rubbish or naive if we lose, then say he's lucky when we win!

got to be more than luck involved with our results lately.

We were lucky that they had 9 men! I'm saying I'm not sure we would have won if they had 11. They still created chances with 9 men. 451 is defensive and to me it says we are happy to settle for a point. We are good enought to win.

There is more than luck involved in our good results I agree. We have good players but in my opinion we don't often play the ideal players or formation. I don't say Blackwell is rubbish when we lose and lucky when we win. I personally believe he's a pretty poor manager whether we win or lose. I've not seen that many really convincing perfomances. You can say we are 4th in the table and yeh that's good, we have good players so you'd expect that. With a better manger I think we'd have won some of the games we've drawn and we'd be top 2.

very good result, against a promotion rival aswell. maybe you have a chance against reading after all. i still believe automatic will be too much though
