What has happened to the bar?

It was pretty dead last night whereas a few months ago it was popular and had a decent atmosphere. Now the sofas have gone and it seemed quite scruffy to me. Quite a few of the taps had sticky tape stuck over the labels at the bar (to show they were `off`). How come it has gone downhill so dramatically?

Not sure, so many bars are flourishing at the moment - there must be something really wrong with this one if it's struggling......

Maybe it's getting ready for a refurb?

They had a refurb two summers ago I think it was but all it was really was a lick of paint and a new plant

it'll always be fairly popular with the after work crowd from the cultural industries quarter and film goers but too many people have suffered the terrible service and ridiculous prices to keep going there.

Needs a massive kick up the arse if its ever to get back to being the busy, popular bar it was when it was one of the few bars with a late license....

We went in to see a film the other day and I expected it to be packed, but it was really quiet! A year or so ago, I went in and it was packed every time I went in!

They need to lower the prices. It's OK for a swift one before a film or when meeting someone off a train, but for the second or third drink you're more likely to go somewhere a bit cheaper.

I still like the place, it just needs to reposition itself a bit for the skint customers. Maybe get that handpump working too with a permanent local bitter.

All very true imo.
