Does anyone know of any within driving distance? It is specifically poultry im after but any livestock will do. I heard penistone farmers market do a saturday market every 2nd sat of the month but this shows more stalls/normal farm markets than livestocks. check on their website and barnsley council say they shut it down in 2003 in favour of a local tesco, however somewhere else it says thursdays are busy?

I only know of one farm selling privately but it aint exactly cheap so any help appreciated.

thanks

Many people in Derbyshire go to Chelford livestock market. It's just out of Macclesfield on the road to Knutsford. It's a reasonable drive from Sheffield. I think they do Poultry on Monday, but if you just put a search in for Chelford market there will be many links to it.

re drive to Chelford - I suppose it depends which part of Sheffield you live in, but we go via Castleton, through Chapel en le Frith, Whaley Bridge to Macc it takes about 40mins and it's a lovely drive. Buxton end folk would go over Cat and Fiddle to Macc

:o:o What do you drive a mig jet? I work in Macc and live in Loxley. So I drive the route to Macc you have described at least 3 times a week and I am very lucky indeed if I can do it in less than an hour and this is just to Macc. Chelford would be at least another 20 minutes.
