View Full Version : Questions about my new kitties
Hi, well, to start they are gorgeous and ive fallen in love with them already , just 2 things im concerned about, i think 1 of them (sooty) is a male, im no expert, but my son said he saw dangly bits :hihi:, so i had a feel round the belly area and couldnt feel any titties. And the other 1 (angel) i think may be pregnant. Now im only thinking here cos as i said, im no expert, so how do i tell if she is without going to a vet 1st? She seems a bit lumpy looking around the back end and her tittties are pink. Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks.
Erm scratch the bit about sooty, he is definately a he :hihi:
missrabbit 20-03-2009, 13:59 I always think female cats look a bit lumpy round the back when they are in heat. How old are they? Is she whining alot really loudly?
They are 9 months apparently, but i have just spoke to a woman and she said a 9 month old wouldnt have titties yet anyway, so im presuming she is older? Oh, and no, she doesnt whine. I am now thinking the guy who got rid of these did so because he knew she was pregnant.
Many cats have already had their first litter by 9 months old!
If her nipples look anything bigger than little normal pale skin tags then she's either up the duff or already reared a litter.
At 9 months she will definitely have gone through puberty, and he's also likely to have done so within the last couple of months, so unless one is neutered and both are kept inside, she's likely to be pregnant.
I'd get an objective opinion from a vet or someone who knows what they're doing if I were you.

Hi Luby, sorry I couldn't get back to you today. Haven;t been back from Tesco collection very long.
Have PM'd you love. Will zoom them both off to vets early next week for check over.
I don't honestly think the man was getting rid cos of pregnancy. He thought they were both male! And then someone told him they were female!! They have never been out of the flat, so....... who knows? He was in fact attached to the cats but the council has made him give them up. They are only allowed one pet.
Does anyone know a vet who does not charge consultation please. Don;t mind paying for the scan but want to keep charges down. I don't have funding. Thank you! x
Highfields on London Road are very reasonable and usually only charge for the medication (unless it's changed recently). They're certainly less expensive in consultation than the vets my lot are registered with.
EDIT- I can usually tell whether there's a pregnancy, I just can't tell you how long before she delivers.
Hi Luby, am on the case! Will be in touch soon. xx
Puss is booked into the RSPCA clinic tomorrow to check out if she's pregnant, and if so, how far. She's only 9 months bless her.
So anyone out there who hasn't had their young cats neutered, get them done NOW before it's too late !!
Great news, Angel is NOT pregnant and with the voucher from the RSPCA she never will be! She is a lovely young cat and is living in a perfect household with her brother Sooty. Thank you Lubylou for giving her a lovely home.
