Following a usual inane conversation I thought I would open it up to the floor.

Who is the best young british film actor at the moment? The best prospect for the future? Course there are hundereds to choose from but for proper leading men I could only really think of these at the time.

Some of them aren't quite so young I guess but there more 'up and coming' than, say, Hugh Grant.

For me its got to be Paddy Considine (see - In America, Dead Mans Shoes, Cinderella Man) who I think is a like a young De Niro. What do you reckon? Anybody not mentioned?

What about James McEvoy or John Simm? Or if you're including Colin Farrell, how about Cillian Murphy?

You see, I knew I hadn't included some people. IMO James McAvoy and John Simm are both good (great in JS case) actors, mainly on TV though and are not leading man material. Only my opinion though. Cillian Murphy - should have thought of him, good work. Have to see Daniel Radcliffe in something other than HP before judging his credentials.
