When I try to watch a youtube video , I get a message that I need to update Adobe. I click on the link, download the update (supposedly) but still keep getting the same message on youtube. I have restarted after it tells me the installation was successful, but still keep going round in circles.

Anyone help please?

What browser are you using?

Internet explorer. I can only use pc when all is well, hopeless when things start to go wrong.

Sounds like a similar problem I once had. I fixed it by un-installing and re-installing the flash player.

Got the instructions from here: http://blog.deconcept.com/2006/12/08/corrupt-flash-player-install-after-ie-7-upgrade/

this is happening to me too, i am useless with computers and i just dont know what to do. mesage says "you have either got javascript swithed off or do not have flashplayer installed" then there is a link to download it. it says download succsesful and iv been in the control panel to programs and its there so is java. it still wont have it. bare in mind im a thick person lol i thought it was something to do with activex as it comes up in the browser and i clicked to allow it then box opens with windows is wanting to open addon program so i allow it. this is just a thought though as i say im not good with computers.
just to add youtube was working fine up until about three weeks ago and i havent changed anything as far as i know.

Did you try restarting your computer after installing FlashPlayer, poshgirl?

Again, I would recommend following the instructions at this link: http://blog.deconcept.com/2006/12/08/corrupt-flash-player-install-after-ie-7-upgrade.

Uninstalling fully is only possible using the uninstall program that you download from the Adobe website - don't just do it via "Add/Remove Programs".

Then all you need to do is re-install from the Adobe website (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer).

You should probably also check that javascript isn't turned off. There's some instructions on how to change this setting (in Internet Explorer) here: http://kb.iu.edu/data/ahqx.html.

gsd 's solution worked fine (uninstall then reinstall as per link. I am like you, lost whenever anything goes wrong but this was easy to do)
