While driving from Palmerston to Taupo in New Zealand, we decided to stop for a coffee before we hit the desert road. Seeing a sign for a cafe, we pulled off the main road.

If you listen very carefully, you can almost hear Duelling Banjos playing in the background.
The only thing missing was the tumbleweed blowing down the street.

The people did actually turn out to be very friendly.

Who's the guy on the sign? Is there a story behind who he was or was he just TG Taylor, shop owner who had his face painted on the side of his shop?

I've no idea who the guy painted on the shop is. He is not actually on th TG Taylor shop, he's on a different one across the road.
