Yes hed kandi is good i have been loads. They play house music, depending on what night it is, it ranges from funcky to more deep house. Dress code is funky clubwear, no ben shermans/dodgey towney outfits. It's normally about £15 to get in and drinks are fairly expensive.

Not that much really to be honest... They get some pretty good DJ's in. Its usually used as a launch night for the new CD so I suppose that makes it seem a bit more exclusive.

The main reason for the price is that its so popular! Its very unusual to have many tickets left over - usually only let 50 - 100 people pay on the door.

Drinks - Pretty expensive. They're the usual Saturday night prices with no offers - Lagers £3.40 a bottle, Spirit + Mixer from £2.70 and Alcopops from £3. (These were the prices when I worked there about 3 months ago.)

Dress Code - Smart, Must look like you've made an effort. Its not really a clubwear as in fluffy boots brigade night though. Most girls wear skirts and a fashionable top (not many wear trousers as it gets so hot) and lads usually wear t-shirt/shirt with jeans/trousers!

Hope that was some help!! It is a really good night despite prices - I used to hate working it as all I wanted to do was go dance!! Corey in Electric Box is my hot tip for an excellent night :)

Most big name club nights are that sort of price.

You can get Hed Kandi tickets from cool wax records in orchard square and it is a good idea to get one as it can get RAMMED in republic. They are normally £14-£16 and Hed Kandi is at the Republic on the 1st Sat of every month.
All the rooms are open in rep and they play all sorts of house from very commercial to relatively unknown. Drinks are expensive and the q's for the bar are normally about 6 deep so get tanked before you get in there really and get in the q outside the club no later than about half 10.
Dress code is pretty relaxed. Some trendy trainers (not Nike air max etc) jeans and a cool t-shirt are what most of the lads wear.

Well I've never had to wait long for a drink and never had to queue more than a few mins outside as the bouncers actually make the effort to get you in sharpish. It's usually a good night but the music is more on the commerically side of house - still can be a great night though. One of the only places I make an effort to go to regular.

It's popular - not a lot you can do about it now. Sure the underground nights are/were better but now that everyone and their dog seems to be a fan then things change. Give it 5 years and it'll be something elses turn then we can go back to getting trollied in a dingy club til 6am :)

The entry price relates to the cost of the night to put on. Hed Kandi nights are not cheap to run.

I think it's quite reasonable to pay that much for entry and drinks, especially when you see the average age and quality of the people in there. Last time i went the average age was about 24-26, all unbelievably well dressed and well behaved. Been going to these for the last 3 months and not once have i seen any trouble!

The people in there are mature who are there for the music and the people inside the club. I love it loads!!!!!!

It's definately a place to be seen in!

Plus loads of top totty!!!:hihi: :heyhey:

i totally agree with you bobby22 - the atmosphere is great the birds are top - i think anyone who moans about the price has never been - as its worth the money and i think the people who complain about it would be better suited to kingdom anyway......

Well Mark Doyle has just left Hed Kandi as he's had enough of the direction it's heading in under Jazz FM and is looking to start up another venture in the spirit HK was started in.
