As a cask ale pub we sell more real ale than any other product, featuring quality real ales rotated on a very regular basis. We specialize in Local Ales too.....for example we have 3 Abbeydale offerings at the moment, Daily Bread, Brimstone, Deception, and we also regularly feature our other well established local brewers, Sheffield Brewery Company, The Brew Company, Thornbridge, Acorn, Bradfield, and Spire Brewery too.

Support Local Pubs....Support Local Ale:thumbsup: The future of the Pub industry is very much with real ale, especially local ales, giving you the flavour and character of the areas they represent.....With keg beer/lager on the decline, and cask ale sales soaring, give local ale a chance if you have not yet had the pleasure:)

I had a very pleasent pint of "Sheffield Stout" the other night... any chance you'll be getting the "Sheffield Porter" on too?

Or did I miss that!

Sure we will have that on, you have not missed it yet:)
Real Ale, to answer the above question, is around £2.40 a pint, about the same as Broomhill Tav...
don't have spirit prices to hand at the moment but its less than average for the area....

Daily Bread was nice on Tuesday :)

Indeed its, in my humble opinion, a considerably more tasty and drinkable 'session' beer than the long established Moonshine...I love it...

Popped in last Saturday nice place.
Very good beer, what was the Mystery Beer by the way, that took up most of the conversation all night.

and what's with the picnic benches? Its a nice pub it dosn't need them.
(Very tacky)

We'll be back in a week or two.

I went in last night, nice place, liked the ambience but could do with more general seating - great jukebox aswell, just wished it was a little bit louder cos the pinball kept drowning it out :)

I first discovered it a few years ago the same way. Wetherspoons in Manchester had it on for a while last year, but I've not seen it in Sheffield. Wish someone would do it here...

If anyone ever comes across it in Sheffield, please tell SF- I wouldn't want to miss it.

Fresh and zesty with crisp floral flavours. A background of sweet malt and a hoppy ‘grapefruit’ bitter finish characterises this

now got to find a regional supplier, its a bit far for a direct delivery...

too right , very tacky decor . Went to Broomhill last night. All the pubs were quite busy exept the York . Not surprised as it was really cold in there. Not very welcoming at all .... Lilac walls and garden furniture !! .. went to the Fox and Duck instead, nice and warm, loads of atmosphere and cheaper beer.

We offer some great ales not normally found in this area, such as HYDES Spin Doctor, a tawny copper beer, just what the Doctor ordered!!!

WHITE HORSE Village Idiot, even the most foolish will recognise this distinctively golden beer creating an explosion for the senses.

ROBINSON'S Trouble and Strife, a copper red deep fruity experience that will leave you gasping for a refill.....
and an ever changing range of eclectic and unusual beers always in the pipeline........

fed up with those mainstream national brands like Greene King and Deuchars? Then come see what we can entice you with from all over the Country at the York......

We are also doing up the fabulous beer garden at the moment, creating a far bigger and superb space for the Summer.....come check us out soon....

same down at the dove, i think it looks cheap and if its the only seating available my friends and i only tend to stop for the one drink before heading somewhere else for some comfy warm seats. its a big shame.

At your sevice madam.

Called in the Plough at Low Bradfield earlier after a pleasurable walk around the dam, and there it is. Unfortunately I was driving so couldn't sample any.

Thank you :-) I'm tied up tomorrow after work, but on Tuesday, I shall take a trip out for an evening drink. What really need is a designated driver, otherwise, it's just a swift half :-(

Have you ever though about setting up a mail shot for your pubs?

I've always thought it'd be quite nice to know what ales are currently being offered.

Latest beers on tap via email would be ace :)

Good plan actually....I will try and add a email group address to the websites later and use it for all regular updates.......actually looking for some feedback about the 2 pubs as we plan to re-introduce pool tables in both of them based on comments over the last few months......

Finally, I've tried this pub.
Good things:
- Nice decorating :)
- Good beer range :)
Beautiful beer cups. I've missed them for almost 10 years. :)
Bad things:
- 2.60 per pint is too expensive :(

The lighting was better last night, wasn't as bright and made for a nicer atmosphere.

Cheers for the comments......I don't think 2.60 is too expensive, and no one has had a problem with this....its average for Broomhill and the general area, and certainly not the most expensive:)

thanks for the comments, actually in point of interest we have not psychically changed the lighting at all, but just altered the decor selectively....the dark purple highlights underneath the arches and on ceiling beams makes a dramatic difference to the overall light levels... like any pub worth its salt we will evolve continuously ...when the wall mural is fitted opposite the bar it will also change the overall effect in that area, currently the brightest part.
