Hi folks
Anybody got any thoughts as to how I try to stop my neighbours playing inane music all hours of day & night meaning I can't sleep / study & end up spending most of my week at friends houses? Paying a lot of money for a flat in Jet Centro which I really like but now I just want to move out as its getting to be a real pain - lease isn't up for another 3 months though so I'm a bit stuck

can't you try to get a copy of the lease for the flats, there should be a clause that sets an expectation of "considerate" behaviour towards other tenants/occupiers. Once you have that then can't you either drop a note through the door of the offender asking politely to turn their music down, or if you've already done that and it hasn't worked report the annoyance to the management company who own the lease to the flats. Would think that would have a strong chance of getting the matter resolved.
cheers for that - I'm new to this renting game & not sure how these things work so your suggestion re the managing company route sounds great - will deffo give it a try so fingers crossed...

You have my sympathy - I'm in a very similar situation and I've been thinking about moving out too, although my contract runs until December :( Bertie's advice sounds good - approach the management company and ask them to deal with it, and then see what happens from there. Perhaps keeping a diary of the disturbance would be useful too, and it would give you something solid on which to base your complaint (I think I'll do the same! :) ) Good luck, and let us know how you get on

Noise nuisance comes under the control of Environmental Health at your local council.
Contact them and make an official complaint. It's the only way. Your peace might even last as long as a week before these moronic dunderheads start up again.
Good luck!
