Junior football leagues are coming to an end. New season starts on 1 June.

Until then theres no reason why you can't train with a team so long as you are not registered with any other team in the Sheffield & Junior District League (Ideas to develop League).

Keep an eye out in the Sheffield Star on 1 June for clubs advertising and/or try the league website for adverts www.junleague.com

If you live in Handsworth/Darnall area try Throstles JFC we're based at Davy's Sporting Club on Prince of Wales Road - www.throstlesjfc.co.uk

Good Luck

I wouldnt recommend anybody even going to throstles they are by far the worst run team in the league, the language that their managers use infront of children is unbelievable, i am from barnsley and involved with an under 13's team and the language i witnessed from throstles under 8's team manager was atrocious when their are children about

Mmm - I'm very interested in this - I'm on the Committee at Throstles JFC so would be grateful if you could PM me with details of the game - time date and a description of the Manager.

it was a fella with glasses on with a tracksuit with ag on,
they were obviously losing at the time and the parents were shouting at their children reducing them to tears which i think is an absolute disgrace,
you know how it works if you are on the committee i cant tell you exact details without going through our club it is just my personal opinion.
if this individual is supposed to be an ambassador for your club he is a disgrace and in my opinion shouldnt be allowed near children

This matter is being taken seriously and will be looked into.

I appreciate everyone gets frustrated when thier team are loosing but it is no excuse whomever you are to treat children of any age in such a manner.

To everyone else - please be assured that Throstles JFC are committed to the children playing for our club - hence us being a Charter Standard Club.

THE PERSON WHO LEFT THE REMARK ABOUT THROSTLES OBVIOUSLEY KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT THE CLUB.
As the child protection officer of the club I have been to thousands of games over the many years I have been involved in junior football, And trust me we are not even in the bad sector of the teams from hell. Its easy to hide behind a wall and shout out comments about things you know little about.
ask yourself a question Have you ever thought of getting involved in an unpaid sport where you are constantly assesed by everyone who opens there mouth. These poeple are vaulanteers. get of there backs.

yes i have thought of getting involved, seeing as i am!!!!!!! [see original post
yes the language was atrocious,
yes the attitude was atrocious,
it has tarnished the reputation of your club in my eyes and thats all i was saying,
it wouldn't be allowed at our place and this fella in my opinion is a liability to your club
as far as i'm concerned that now draws a line under the matter as we are getting away from the original post

To the person commenting on the game between throstles and beighton falcons on sunday the 22 of march. I am the manager Andy Grayson. Now you must have been watching a different game to me, because i was refereeing and could not possibly be swearing at my players because i was on the field, and as for our team supposed to be losing, we actually won 11 nil. I've been doing junior football for 7 years. I am a level 1 coach, crb checked and a qualfied referee, so would not carry on the way you have said. So now i have named myself, is it possible you can name yourself and if it was as bad as you say you should report it. I am using a friends account to post this thread as i think you are wrong in what you have said.

name yourself and your team - the comments you made about throstles jfc were completely out of order- having my son playing at tjfc for the past 6 years i can honestly say they are a fantastic junior football club- 4 of the 6 years playing in a team managed by ag , he is one of the nicest coaches i have ever met, very hard working and loyal to his teams and whos teams pay him the upmost respect.
These comments you made are untrue and hurtful to a very succesful junior football club.

As it happens i was not referring to a game in March, this game occurred before Christmas when our fixture was at your ground, AS FOR THE MATCH YOU REFER TO ON 22ND OF MARCH I HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF IT, HOWEVER IF YOU ARE AS QUALIFIED AS YOU SAY YOU ARE YOU ARE ALSO AWARE YOU SHOULD NOT BE PUBLISHING RESULTS AT YOUR AGE GROUP AS YOU HAVE JUST DONE IN YOUR POST!!!!!!
